So last week we made the decision to lay Cutaways to rest. It was very much a mutual decision and we will continue to be friends forever and ever, having had a lot of fun together playing and recording our music.
We played our final show at the Empire and it was a lovely way to go out! There was a little receipt included in the demo cd we gave away that night. It says it all…
———————————————
These demos are dedicated
to the following people for
their huge support and even
huger imaginations:
Meaghan Hick, Nick Fitzsimmons,
Rocky O’Reilly Gawain
Morrison, Olan Byrne, Amy
McGarrigle, Rigsy, Paul McClean,
Chris McCorry, Alex
Donald, Ash Pocock, Rory McConnell
and Steven Rainey,
Charlotte Dryden, Gary Campion,
David Roy Glasgowbury,
Trans and to the countless
others who have put us on
at their shows, photographed
us, filmed us, put us up in
their house, played us on the
radio, put us on TV, written
about us, donned face paint
or finger puppets for us and
to anyone else who has ever
listened, watched or got excited.

Spotify is pretty great, isn’t it? We at Cutaways HQ have been been using it for a while, and even though our album still isn’t up there (but it will be soon hopefully) we shall forgive them for the time being.
A rather tasty feature is the ability to share playlists, kind of like the equivalent of inviting someone round your house to show off your music collection but without the hassle of having to get some drinks in or clear the laundry off the dining room table so the place looks less of a hoval.
With that in mind, we shall each be posting up a playlist of what we’re currently listening to and the first is right here:

They’ve been with us through three tours, a bunch of music videos, and an album. They’ve survived attempted theft and fire and the sweaty hands of over-zealous audience members. But we’ve decided its time they flew the nest. So we’ll be giving away all two of our giant cardboard birds at our gig this Saturday in the Black Box Belfast, to whoever can prove they want them most! (you have to keep your clothes on though) Check out the birds in action
A brand new Cutaways track , “Lucky Arms” got its first play last night on the BBC Radio 1 Introducing show in Northen Ireland with Rory McConnell last night.

We were kindly asked to put together a wee blogcast by the peeps at Smalltown America. We managed to choose some of our favourite local sounds, some of our own and agree on an international act we don’t disagree on. And in between we talked.
